Prevent Disease with General Dentistry

At the Hawaii Pacific Dental Group, our team takes a preventive approach to family and general dentistry. Rather than fixing the damage after it has been done, we take measures to protect patients' oral health long before it is in danger. We provide sealants to prevent cavities for children, chart periodontal health at every appointment so that any issues are caught as early as possible, and conduct oral cancer screenings biannually.

Hawaii Pacific Dental Group's approach to family dentistry is based on family or Ohana. We see a broad spectrum of all ages and we take a very preventative approach to our patients' care. We honor the trust that our patients instill in us and we always want to exceed their expectations. Children, for example, are given dental sealants in order to protect and prevent cavities from occurring. All our patients are given oral cancer screenings at every cleaning appointment, at least twice a year. Our patients' periodontal or gum health is charted at every dental visit so we know when and if periodontal disease starts. We catch it immediately before it progresses into anything more serious. My patients in our practice are educated at every dental visit about the importance of oral health. Oral health is an imperative, important portion of your overall health. Diseases and oral health can contribute to other systemic health problems as well, as has been documented in recent medical literature, such as an increased level of periodontal disease causing a rise in blood markers that give rise to chronic inflammation, certain types of cancers, certain types of heart diseases, and certain types of diabetes.
